Biblioteca de Jacó

Biblioteca de Jacó's picture

As a library and learning center, La Biblioteca de Jacó is committed to increasing literacy and education throughout the community in order to empower individuals to reach their goals.

The Jacó Library and Learning Center is a non-profit organization and the only public library on the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. The mission of Biblioteca y Centro de Aprendizaje de Jacó is to provide materials and services to help community members acquire knowledge and information meeting their educational, professional, creative and personal needs.

The communities in which volunteers work can be 80% Catholic, though there are no religious obligations of any kind for volunteers.

Students, families, gap year travelers, professionals, and retirees are all welcome to participate in these projects. Schedules for larger groups and special projects may be arranged upon request and depending on available accommodations.

Watch a short video of our story - any contributions to our Read.Learn.Play campaign would be greatly appreciated.
