African Conservation Experience

African Conservation Experience's picture

African Conservation Experience organise conservation volunteering placements in southern Africa. You can gain a range of hands on skills and real life experiences by joining a project, from trying your hand at working as a game ranger, studying elephant populations or predator behaviour in the African bush or hand rearing a baby rhino. You can join the projects for any duration between 2-12 weeks and there are opportunities all year round.

All the projects work in wildlife conservation, ranging from wildlife rehabilitation centres to wildlife veterinary work, field research, park management, marine conservation or community education.

Projects are located in South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mauritius. Depending on the project focus, you are typically based in a wildlife reserve or a rural community.

Varies at each project. Accommodation can be in tented camps, shared houses, homestays or local lodges.
