Following the snowJune 07, 2014
Do you ever feel completely alone, without the willingness and energy to follow a sunny day?
No? Well, I do.
It was the 27th of May, I was on my way back home from work. Because of walking next to the Cathedral of Vic, after seeing its main entrance opened, I decided to enter and enjoy the atmosphere there. After a few minutes of contemplation, I realized that all doors are closed. I saw one nun and asked her about any possible exit. We started to talk and finally we got to the conclusion that because of the fact that I love trekking, I absolutely should go with the group of young people from Vic to the Valley of Núria that is situated in the province of Girona, close to the border with France.
That is why on the 31st of May from the very morning we moved, first 1 hour by car, then 1.5 hour walking, to reach our destination.
The Valley of Núria is a great winter resort with ski routes. There is also a big monastery with the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Núria. There is no road to access the valley. However, there is a possibility to use a gondola lift or train. It’s situated almost on 2 000m.That is why during trekking across the mountains, we discovered peaks covered with snow. Additionally, the weather was so crazy that being there only for 5 hours we enjoyed the spring sun, rain and even SNOW! Ahhh…I was only singing Jingle bells and dreaming about going down on my snowboard!
Here you have some photos from that Saturday trip!
That's all for now!
