Gene L. Dowell, M.D.
Gene is a retired Naval medical officer with over thirty years of experience and specialties in Family Practice and Aerospace Medicine.
With a lifelong interest in the exploration and discovery, in 2004 he accepted a postition as one of the primary care physicians assigned to support NASA Mission Control and the International Space Station, for which he regularly travels to Russia and Kazakhstan to support hazardous astronaut training and Soyuz launch/landing activities.
Gene is also a certified SCUBA diver, sailor and pilot. An avid traveler himself, he is extremely ensthusiastic to assist in the mission and goals of Volunteer Global to place willing and able volunteers with programs in need.
