ReefCI are a marine conservation SCUBA company offering Monday - Friday trips on our own private island. We only take small groups and with a very high staff to volunteer ratio you will receive excellent personalised instruction.
Learn about the fish, the reef, the invasive lionfish and all other exciting elements of reef conservation. Once qualified participate in Reef Surveys and collect valuable data for a number of exciting conservation projects.
ReefCI is based on a beautiful remote paradise island in the Sapodilla Cayes Marine Reserve, Southern Belize. The mainland base in Punta Gorda, a vibrant local Caribbean fishing town. We leave for the island on a Monday morning and return to the mainland every Friday afternoon.
The project is based on a remote island location so you need to make sure you are in Punta Gorda town no later than early monday morning. Once on the island you will be introduced to your dive instructor who will tailor your dive schedule to your inidividual needs. The PADI Open Water course can take between 2 and 4 days and once completed you will join in on some conservation / survey dives on the reef!
Accomodation on the island is rustic but comfortable.
We have a number of small oceanside cabanas with shared bathroom facilities along with a few larger ensuite double rooms in the main building.
Rainwater is our main source of water on the island and we have plenty of purified drinking water. We run a small generator to allow you to charge laptops, ipods, cameras and run lights and fans.
We have wireless internet for a small fee.
We have a regional and seasonal purchasing policy so all food is fresh and locally sourced.
