Volunteering Abroad In Asia
Every Share Helps!
Rich in both history and beauty, Asia is home to some of the world’s oldest civilizations and most beautiful landscapes, making the world’s largest and most populous continent the perfect destination for volunteers looking for an exciting experience abroad. Unfortunately, it is also home to the greatest population of the world’s poor, meaning there are an abundance of organizations dedicated to serving those in need in Asia.
Here is a look at just three organizations available to you!

Volunteer in Asia with Cambodian Children’s Painting Project
Cambodian Children’s Painting Project is a grass roots art project organization that works with underprivileged children and their families in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, recognizing education as the escape route from poverty and exploitation, providing care to extremely impoverished households who lack regular access to food, clean drinking water, and medical attention. Children who are targeted for the program are those who generally inhabit beaches or the local area, collecting cans and bottles or selling items to tourists for whatever money they can take home. The goals of Cambodian Children’s Painting Project are to provide these children with the opportunity to develop their imaginative skills through artistic expression, providing them a safe place to play as well as learn.
Volunteers assist with art lessons as well as activities and games daily. Other activities include English and Khmer lessons and yoga. Cambodian Children’s Painting Project also takes their students on a weekly field trip that volunteers also assist with, as well as a nursery, and art gallery. In addition, volunteers can assist with a computer program.
- Location: Sihanoukville, Cambodia
- Accommodations: Volunteer house
- Time Commitment: 1 month+
- Police check and passport copies are requested of all volunteers, as well as fluency in English and a love for children.
